Business Interns

  • Amit Basnet

    Amit is a graduate student pursuing an MBA at UMass Dartmouth. As an ATMC intern, he is currently working on providing business support to Bay Angels Investment Group, through an array of administrative, marketing, and logistics services. His interests include going for a long drive, socializing with friends and family, and researching on the current business trends. In his spare time, he loves to watch movies. Amit plans to graduate in 2009 and start a career in a multinational company.
  • Peter Carvalho

    Peter is a graduate student pursuing and MBA at UMass Dartmouth. As an ATMC intern he is currently working on accounting support, organizing and promoting the entrepreneur speaker series, and creating publications. His interest include Golden Key Honor Society, Beta Gamma Sigma, travel, and foreign languages. Peter plans to graduate in 2007 and find a career in human resources for an international organization.
  • Anjali Chauhan

    Anjali is a graduate student pursuing and MBA at UMass Dartmouth. As an ATMC intern she is currently working on updating ATMC information in spreadsheets and databases. Her interest include music dancing, and traveling. Anjali is also Vice President of Business Affairs and in the MBA Association at UMass. She plans to graduate in 2008 and find a career in a managerial position.
  • Florence Natocho
    Florence is a graduate student pursuing an MBA at UMass Dartmouth. As an ATMC intern, she is currently working on providing Accounting , Marketing and Administrative support. Her interests include traveling, meeting new people, reading and politics. Florence plans on graduating in 2009 and starting a career in Accounting, possibly a CPA.
  • Mason Ng

    Mason joined the ATMC as a junior marketing student at UMass Dartmouth. As an ATMC intern he is working on marketing support and accounting support. His interest include writing, reading, video games, sports and music. Mason plans to graduate in 2008 and continue to persue and MBA.
  • Rebecca L. Viera

    Rebecca is a freshman Graphic Design student at UMass Dartmouth. As an ATMC intern she works on website maintenance and design. Her interest include painting, design, and computers. She is also a member of the UMD equestrian team. Rebecca plans to graduate in 2009 and continue to obtain a masters in Graphic Design.
Chemistry Interns  
  • Kate Demello
    Kate is a Junior Undergraduate student of Biology at Umass Dartmouth. As a research intern at the ATMC, she is working on AUV sensors, compensating for time lags, etc. She plans to graduate in May 2009.

    Barry is a Junior Undergraduate student of Textile Science at Umass Dartmouth. As a research intern at the ATMC, he has recently completed a project in collaboration with the Massachusetts Office of Technical Assistance. He is working on a project to develop Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells. He plans to graduate with a bachelor's Degree in Textile Science with a minor in Business Administration.
  • John Robert Wetherbee
    John is a Senior Undergraduate student of chemistry at Umass Dartmouth. As an ATMC intern he is currently working on South Coast Technical Products and Wastewater Analysis. John plans to gradute in 2007 and continue researching enviromental chemistry and biochemistry. His interest include cooking, yoga, fishing, and being outdoors.
Engineering Interns  
  • Emmanuel Q. Agyei

    Emmanuel is a graduate student at UMass Dartmouth studying physics. He is currently working on Homeland Security and Toll Network Capacity Calculator. He expects to graduate in 2006 and plans to continue with a PhD in Transportation Engineering. His interests include peer counseling and music.
  • Michael Balestracci
    Michael is a senior of mechanical engineering at UMass Dartmouth. As an ATMC intern he is currently working on Lightolier Thermal. His interest include defense technology, powerplants, skiing, football, and fishing. Michael plans to gradute in 2006 and work for a defense company or pursue a masters degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Benjamin Boynton
    Benjamin is a junior of civil engineering at UMass Dartmouth. As an ATMC intern he is currently working on the New bedford GIS project. He plans to graduate in 2009.

  • Joseph William Burke
    Joseph is a graduate electrical engineering student at UMass Dartmouth. As an ATMC intern he is currently working with Coastal Systems Technology. He is working to expend the capabilitites of the MOOS software so that it is capable of navigating an autonomous vehicle along a bathymetric contour. He plans to graduate in 2008 and after he graduates he would like to continue his education.

  • Justin W. Cantara
    Justin is a sophomore mechanical engineering student at UMass Dartmouth. As an ATMC intern he is currently working on Ocean Server prototypes, Virtual View, and Micro-Ant. His interest include automotive and transportation design and technology. He is also a memeber of the National Deans List, the National Science Foundation and Phi Theta Kappa. Justin plans to graduate in 2009 and plans to continue working in mechanical engineering. He also plans to study industrial design.
  • Ashley Carroll
    Ashley is a senior electronic imaging/graphic design student at UMass Dartmouth. As an ATMC intern she is currently working on Submarine Onboard Training (SOBT). Her interest include design, art and taekwondo. She is also president of UMass Dartmouth Shotokan Karate Club. Ashley plans to graduate in 2006 and continue to work in the design field with print, web, or animation.
  • Thomas James Celona

    Thomas is a Junior Undergraduate student of Mechanical Engineering UMass Dartmouth. As a ATMC intern he is working on projects such as Thermal Form and Function, and lightolier thermal management. He expects to graduate in 2007 and plans on starting his own business. Thomas's interests include the Solar Decathon, and innovative bicycle design.
  • Yvonne Chane

    Yvonne is a senior Undergraduate student of Electical Engineering UMass Dartmouth. As a ATMC intern she is working with Coastal Systems Technology. She expects to graduate in 2008. Yvonne is also IEEE secretary.
  • Brent Collins

    Brent is a senior Undergraduate student of Mechanical Engineering UMass Dartmouth. As a ATMC intern he is working with OceanSever. He expects to graduate in 2008 and plans on attending graduate school. Brent's interests include baseball and snowboarding.

    Rob is CIS graduate student at UMass Dartmouth. As an intern at the ATMC he is currently working on the Land BaseCrgeting Area of Uncertainty (LBTAOU) project and Submarine On Board Training Interactive Multimedia Instruction (SOBT). His professional interest include pattern recognition, image analysis, AI, software engineering, and design. His other interest are Jazz and Latin Jazz Ensemble. Roberts expected graduation date is 2007, and after graduation he plans to attain a software development job for defense or homeland security applications.
  • Jamie Donais
    Jamie is Electrical and Computer Engineering student in his Senior year at UMass Dartmouth. As an intern at the ATMC he is currently working on transducer production. His interest are basketball and he is also a memeber of the IEEE. Jamie's expected graduation date is June 2008, and after graduation he plans attend graduate school.
  • Flavio Goncalves Fernandes
    Flavio is Electrical Engineering student in his junior year at UMass Dartmouth. As an intern at the ATMC he is currently working on researching the New Bedford Harbor project. His interest are soccer and he is also a memeber of the ECE Honor Society. Flavio's expected graduation date is May 2009, and after graduation he plans to work in the field of Electrical Engineering.
  • Roya Ghanimat
    Roya is Civil Engineering student in her junior year at UMass Dartmouth. As an intern at the ATMC she is currently working on GIS, sewer geodata base, and surface drain database. Her interest are books, sports, and travel. Roya's expected graduation date is May 2009.
  • Karishma S. Kazani

    Karishma is a graduate student at UMass Dartmouth. As an intern at the ATMC she is currently working with OceanServer testing and programing connector boards, compases, and battery modules. Her areas of interest include reading, music, sports, and cooking. Karishma expects to graduate in 2007, and after graduation she plans to work in Web Development.
  • Binsan Khadka

    Binsan is a graduate student of computer science at UMass Dartmouth. As an AMTC intern he is currently working on the develoment of portals and content management systems in IATEK using DOT NET technology. His interest include swimming, traveling, hiking and movies. Binsan plans to graduate in 2007 and continue to perform reseach and development in the field of software engineering.

  • Skander Limen

    Skander is a Doctoral student of BioMedical Engineering and BioTech at UMass Dartmouth. As an ATMC intern he is working on Organogenesis. His activities include TAPPI, sports, and kickboxing. He expects to graduate 2007. After he graduates he plans on joining a research and development facility in tissue engineering.
  • Eric Leveille

    Eric is a graduate student of electrical engineeing at UMass Dartmouth. As an ATMC intern he is working on designing controller for the Iver2 autonomous underwater vehicle for OceanSever. His activities include sports, automobiles and all outdoor activities. He expects to graduate 2007. After he graduates he plans on pursuing a Ph.D in electical engineering.

    Sheng is a graduate student of Electrical Engineering at UMass Dartmouth. As an ECE intern at the ATMC he is a research assistant for the Homeland Security project. His professional interests include underwater acoustics and transducer technology. He expects to graduate in the summer of 2005. After he graduates he plans on working full-time as an Engineer.
  • Henry Mabwa
    Henry is a junior student of electrical engineering at UMass Dartmouth. As an ATMC intern he is currently working on an electronic package for Sippican's Expendable Sound Velocity probe (XSV). His interest include medical devices, soccer, music, travel, and motorcycles. Henry plans to graduate in 2007 and work as an electrical engineer to design, develop and test electrical and electronic equipment. He also plans to pursue a masters degree in electrical engineering and participate in research projects for developing advanced electronic medical devices.
  • Stephen Murray

    Stephen is a Sophomore physics student at UMass Dartmouth. He is currently working on transducer devlopment and research for BTech. His interest include physics, cross country, track, math, and music. Stephen plans to graduate in 2008 and then attend graduate school for underwater acoustics.
  • Jeffery Petrrudo

    Jeffery is a computer engineering gradute student at UMass Dartmouth. As an ATMC intern he is currently working on sonar systems for OceanServer. Jeffery plans to gradute in 2007.
  • Bhumit Patel

    Bhumit is a CIS gradute student at UMass Dartmouth. As an ATMC intern he is currently working on TOPIIVA and CVIP data managment. His interest include programming. Bhumit plans to gradute in 2007.
  • Rinkesh Patel

    Rinkesh is a CIS gradute student at UMass Dartmouth. As an ATMC intern he is currently working on DOT NET devlopment at IATEK. His interest include developing software, reading, traveling, and playing soccer. Rinkesh plans to gradute in 2006 and later become a System Analyst and researcher.
  • Harish Nagelly

    Harish is a graduate student of CIS at UMass Dartmouth. He is currently working on RCC and TOPTIVA. He enjoys working on group projects. Harish expects to graduate in 2006 and use his experience to benefit any future company he may work for.
  • Rebekah Novak

    Rebekah is a junior student of civil engineering at UMass Dartmouth. She is currently working on GIS sewer geodatabase and surface drain database.
  • Nirav Shah
    As Nirav is a graduate student of computer engineering at UMass Dartmouth. As an ATMC intern he is currently working on portalapp based on database driven DOT NET application. His interest include making software, playing cricket, traveling and reading. Nirav plans to graduate in 2006 and continue inproving as an IT engineer.
  • Rohit Sharma

    Rohit is a graduate student of Computer Science at UMass Dartmouth. He is working on projects such as RCC Database and SOBT. He expects to graduate in 2006. Rohit's interest include football, music, movies, video games, and camping.
  • Nikhol Shindle

    Nikhol is a graduate student of Computer Science at UMass Dartmouth.
  • Mona Shrestha

    Mona is a graduate student at UMass Dartmouth. As an ATMC intern she is working on Lackheed Mactin Sippican XSV. Her interest include music, sports and reading. Mona plans to graduate in 2007 and continue to work at a company in her area of interest.
  • Cong Wang

    Cong is a Graduate student of Physics. As an ATMC intern he is currently working with Murphy Medical. After he graduates Cong plans to pursue a PhD degree. One of Cong's interest is music.
  • H. Esin Yesilalan

    Esin is a Doctoral student of Biomedical Engineering and Biotechnology at UMass Dartmouth. As an ATMC intern she is working on a project for a biotech company, Organogenesis, Inc., manufacturing slcin substitute products. She is working on building an electrospinning unit to make ECM like scaffolds for tissue engineering applications, particulary scaffolds for skin substitue products. She also worked on a product for a local textile company, Draper Knitting Inc., to develop a novel fabric joining technique to reduce the amount of discorded fabrics. Her interest include technical and conventional textiles, tissue engineering, biomaterials, textile machinery and electrospinning. She expects to graduate in 2007 and then plans to take part in a research facility. Esin also has her MS degree in Textiles Technology.
