Announcement

Dear Sir or Madam,
October 07, 2005

The Southeastern Massachusetts Regional Competitiveness Council (SERCC), with funding from the Massachusetts Office of Economic Development, is holding a Manufacturing Competitiveness Conference on Wednesday, November 16, 2005.

The purpose of the Conference is to bring together decision makers from manufacturing organizations in Southeastern Massachusetts to discuss issues affecting the growth of established and emerging companies, creating and retaining jobs, and improving knowledge skills of our workforce. The Conference will focus on targeted and key industry clusters including Food Processing, Precision Manufacturing & Jewelry, Textiles & Advanced Materials, and Analytical Instruments in the Medical Devices area.

The Conference will open with remarks from Lt. Governor Kerry Healey, followed by a keynote address by the very dynamic, former GE CEO, Jack Welch. We will provide a copy of Jack's latest book, Winning to all invited attendees.

The Conference will have two informational breakout sessions to address topics of importance to manufacturing industries. There will also be four concurrent breakout sessions to discuss problems specific to key industry clusters.

Ranch C. Kimball, the Secretary of Economic Development, will wrap up the Conference with a panel of industry leaders to summarize results during a working lunch session.

The key to the success of this Conference will be to have decision makers of the key industry clusters attending the breakout sessions and attending the panel discussion. We want CEO's, COO's, CFO's, Manufacturing Managers, Plant Managers, or people in similar leadership positions to attend. We have endeavored to make this Conference as succinct as possible to insure that your time is well spent.

Your organization has been identified as one of the leading organizations in the key industry clusters and we look forward to your company's attendance.

We have enclosed a registration form including a brief survey to help us better support the logistics of the Conference. Please respond no later than October 12, 2005. Space is limited.

Sincerely,

Bob Dluhy
