| ORPC has obtained Preliminary Permits from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) for two tidal sites in Maine (Western Passage and Cobscook Bay), 1 tidal site in Alaska (Cook Inlet) and 6 ocean current sites in the Florida Current off theeast coast of Florida. The FERC permits give ORPC control of the sites for any subsequent tidal and ocean current projects it develops in these areas. ORPC plans to conduct a series of demonstration and prototype projects and will ultimately develop commercial scale OCGenTM projects at these sites. ORPC is also evaluating other promising sites for tidal and coean current projects and is in discussions with several electric utilities who have FERC Preliminary Permits for tidal sites and are evaluating OCGenTM technology for deployment at their sites.

Phosphorex, Inc. has identified several polymer systems that have shown to be very effective in encapsulating certain types of phosphorescent dyes against oxygen quenching. By using these polymers, we have prepared phosphorescent nanoparticles that are multiple times brighter than those PS, PMMA and PAN based particles. The nanoparticles developed have the following advantages over conventional fluorescent probes. These phosphorescent nanoparticles can be used in a large variety of immunoassays that have applications in food safety, diagnostics, drug-screening, biotechnology, bio-defense and many other industry segments. |
Resolute Marine Energy, Inc. is developing a wave energy converter ("WEC") that produces clean energy from ocean waves. Resolute's initial focus is on providing small quantities of power for niche applications including ocean observation systems and, later, on providing larger quantities of power in grid-connected, large-scale offshore "energy farms" and in a variety of autonomous offshore industrial applications e.g. fresh water production and open-ocean aquaculture. The company has utilized ATMC senior engineers, student interns and labs to assist in the development of its design concepts.
